Key Responsibilities

Ø          1.Effectively managing the plant environmental, health and safety department to ensure facility compliance with all applicable state, local and Corporate EHS statutes and permits. 

Ø          2.Communicating the impact of new and pending regulatory changes affecting the facility and for leading the application process for new construction/operations permits as needed

Ø         3.Facilitating a culture of continual improvement with respect to Responsible Care.

Ø          4.Establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continual improve EHS management system such as ISO14001 and OHSAS18001.

Ø         5.Facilitating efficient incident investigations and monitoring corrective actions and following up to issues raised from OH&S Incidents, Safety Meetings, Audits, Safety Tours and any others

Ø         6. Ensuring that risk assessment and hazard reviews are carried out on all operations on a regular basis, ensuring hazards are registered per requirements.

Ø          7. Ensuring that all PPE is in conformance with requirements and is used and maintained properly and providing training for the use of such equipment.

Ø         8. Arranging contractor safety and environmental orientations and monitoring contractor conformances to our safety rules and regulations. 

Ø         9. Ensuring that there is an effective crisis management program on site.

Ø         10. Scheduling and coordinating training programs for emergency response, manual handling, first aid, fire extinguishing, HAZCOM and any others as required under national or AP requirements.

Ø         11.Participating in project work in order to ensure that all aspects of Safety are appropriately addressed.

Ø         12.Assisting the AP EHS with audits, training, and accident investigation at other locations as requested.
