Job Purpose

·         Support company’s line management in meeting Chinese SHE and regulatory compliance and company’s SHE Corporate compliance. This would be through promoting and developing SHE Minimum Requirements by training, auditing and raising SHE awareness on a continual basis.                      

·         Provide functional support to site to improve overall site Safety, Health & Environment practices, system & performance

Principal Accountabilities               

·         Take responsibility as Chairman to run Safety Committee as the highest-level organization to monitor and continually improve safety performance in plant        

·         Design, update and implement SHE procedures, work instructions and programs in compliance with National Laws, Gov. Regulations, Industrial Criteria and Corporate Standards                

·         Plan, organize and implement annual SHE audit schedule, address and monitor corrective and preventive action plan          

·         Conduct Job Safety Analysis & HAZOP, Medical Surveillance, control MSDS and Specification of PPE to address and prevent potential risks                 

·         Organize, coach and lead various safety improvement teams to plan and implement annual SHE improvement programs and ready for incident / accident handling        

·         Be responsible for Pollution Prevention, Emergency Responsible & Community Awareness Program and Product Stewardship Program                 

·         Handle Effluent treatment, Chemical & Dust exposure monitoring, Work area light & Noise level monitoring, Environmental monitoring and Waste Management to ensure daily safety compliance in plant                  

·         Organize incident handling, investigation, reporting and initiate corrective and preventive actions                   

·         Organize SHE training including Fire Drill, First Aid, etc. to update employees awareness and skills to handle incident / accident                

·         Design and update security procedures / projects, coach and monitor Security-guide team and coordinate Engineering department with installation and maintenance of security equipments and facilities to ensure the security in plant          

·         Contact and coordinate with relevant Gov. Authorities and local community to understand the requirement and need to perform good image in community.     

Key Qualifications required for this position               

·         University or above diploma, Degree in SHE Management or Environmental management, or Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Production Management with suitable postgraduate qualification in SHE management                   

·         3+ years,3 to 5 years in a SHE Management role, preferably in a multinational company and gained in Chemical Manufacturing environment within a company with strong SHE culture.                

·         Good communication in both Mandarin & English

·         Detailed knowledge of relevant local SHE legislation and its application in the workplace                 

·         Strong communication, team working and people influencing skills
